Hey everyone, my name is Mike and I'm a guitarist from the United Kingdom. I've only been playing for about 1.5 years, but I've managed to learn quite a bit in that time. I mostly play the electric guitar but sometimes I play the acoustic / classical too. It's not just about the actual time you've spent playing. It's about what you've managed to learn in that time. It's about actual hours put in!
So why have I started this site? Well I think the best way to improve is to keep a record. And what better way than having a blog? I find if my thoughts are public it makes me a little bit more accountable too. Even if I'm not sure anyone's reading.
Hopefully this site will help others too especially when I'm writing about what has helped me in the past, what hasn't worked etc.
This is what I plan to write about:
I'll also be posting resources which have helped me. Ill keep these on this main page and add to them over time. I've done a lot (and I mean loads!) of searching for great guitar resources so this should be very useful to beginners.

This is what I plan to write about:
- What I've been learning.
- Guitar theory.
- Guitar equipment.
- Bands / songs I like and are influenced by.
- Whatever I want!

Top Guitar Resources
A quick word on this list:
I didn't want to blitz you all with resources so this isn't going to be the longest list ever. I find long resource lists aren't really very beneficial. There are just too many resources and you can't pick out anything which is useful. The whole point of a list is to narrow down what's out there, pick the best of the best! So that's why this list is quite short. I aim to always keep it under 10, but if you think there is a really cool resource that I've missed please get in touch.
Leave a comment in the blog section if you want to suggest a resource. However remember (this is a mistake I made) that nothing can make up for practice. You can read guides and blogs all day but you're not going to improve as much as actually picking up the guitar.
